Additional Information
Artistic Level: This immersive course is designed for all levels, from novice to experienced artists. Participants are expected to have basic familiarity with drawing and water-based color media (e.g., pencil, watercolor) to effectively participate in the daily plein air exercises.
Materials: Participants are encouraged to bring their own easily transportable mixed media. We plan to dedicate time on Day 2 to visit a local art supply store in town to purchase any additional or specialty materials.
Mobility and Safety: We plan to walk around Lucca for daily sessions (weather permitting) for sketching, drawing, and photographing. Please bring comfortable walking shoes and easily transportable materials. Be prepared to sit on benches and consider bringing a waterproof covering in case of rain or damp ground.
Please note that the historic sites in Lucca often do not have specialized mobility accommodations (e.g., elevators, smooth ramps). Our days will involve significant activity outside of the studio: walking on cobblestones, climbing stairs, and standing for drawing and photography sessions. You must be able to independently manage these physical demands to fully participate in these activities.
